Small Cast: 4 - 11m, 2 - 11f: Expanded Ensemble Optional
Running Time: 50 - 60 minutes

Androcles is a slave who, upon escaping, comes across a lion in the desert that is certain to eat him. However, the lion merely whimpers at a thorn stuck in its paw which Androcles kindly removes. Some time later, the two cross paths once again and the lion returns the favor - proving that gratitude is the sign of a noble soul.
This new telling of the familiar story weaves in the tale of Androcles' sister, Adelpha, who also escapes in search of her brother. When she comes across the desert cave where Androcles and the lion reside, disguises, trickery and complications ensue!
